There are many opportunities for students to have an impact and develop key skills when engaging with service learning. The commitment students make to service learning& projects have an impact on students, the people they advocate for and the issues they seek to address.

The House System

Service learning programmes are available throughout the school. Each House has a specific organisation that students support. These House related initiative sees students fundraising for charities, raising awareness about important social change issues and developing an understanding of the impact that social change projects can have.

The YES Club and Activity Week

In 2014, AISHK Secondary students formed The YES Club (Youth Experiencing Service) a student-initiated community service club open to all secondary students. Years later, students are still supporting key charities that resonate with them. The YES Club has grown from strength to strength, participating in a wide range of service activities, including assisting at food kitchens, visiting the elderly, reading to younger children, and tutoring students.

During Activity Week, each year students in the Secondary school, have the opportunity to volunteer and assist with service learning projects in Hong Kong and overseas.

Creativity, Activity, Service

Senior school students who elect to do the IB Diploma Programme commit to CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service). This element of the IBDP give students opportunities to develop themselves and their passions through a broad spectrum of activities. CAS is designed to strengthen and extend students; personal and interpersonal learning.

This approach to service learning emphasizes achievement and impact, personal fulfillment, service to others and an increased awareness of a student's responsibility as a global citizen. The outcomes of CAS projects are significant and can often change the lives of those associated with them.
