Extra Curricular Activities

At AISHK, we believe in providing students with holistic development and opportunities to pursue their interests and passions. AISHK offers over 80 varied Extra Curricular Activities (ECAs) in areas including sports, performing arts, visual art and design, STEM, academics and community initiatives.

Held at AISHK's outstanding, on-campus facilities, and coordinated by both AISHK staff and external vendors, all ECAs are provided to encourage a sense of enjoyment and achievement, promote teamwork and build friendships.

Sport

Sport and physical activity are an essential part of a balanced schooling journey. The wide range of sporting opportunities at AISHK reflects our Australian and international student body. Our ECA program allows students to explore their sports interests and simply "give it a go," or to pursue local and global competitions, representing the school. The sport program at AISHK aligns with the seasonal representative competitions and leagues where possible and may include:

AFL (Auskick), Athletics, Aquathon, Basketball, Cricket, Cross Country, Netball, Rugby, Soccer, Swimming, Touch Rugby, Volleyball, Mini Ball Games.

STEM

STEM is an approach to learning and development that integrates the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Through our ECAs, students develop key skills including problem solving, creativity and computational thinking. Schoolwide, AISHK embraces STEM through robotics, coding, fairs, clubs and competitions to help foster critical thinking in meaningful and engaging ways. Clubs include Coding, Robotics Lego, Gaming (electronic & tabletop), Mathematics, Sciences.

Performing Arts

Performing Arts at AISHK allows students to creatively explore a range of musical and theatrical styles, building skills in performance, listening, composition, research, improvisation and physicality. Through ECAs, students develop their artistic abilities and creative skills, providing students with a platform to showcase their talents and build their confidence. These avenues help students to develop and grow as artists, alongside their peers, through exposure to a blend of traditional and modern performance styles and cultures. Groups include: Choir, Orchestra, Guitar/wind/vocal ensemble, Chinese Drumming, Drama.

Visual Art and Design

AISHK boasts a Department of Creative Industries encompassing Visual Art, IT, Product Design and Food Technology with cutting edge facilities. Students enjoy two Visual Arts studios, two Product Design workshops, a CAD/CAM suite with laser cutters and 3D printers, IT suite and makerspace with electronics and robotics, as well as a creative library and creative collaboration room. Through ECAs, students can explore and hone their talents and skills across a range of mediums, styles and technologies. Groups include: Sewing & Textiles, Fashion Design, Food Technology, 3D Modelling, Woodwork, Visual Arts

Special Interest

AISHK provides a range of special ECAs, allowing students to develop friendships and form connections with peers who share similar interests. Students achieve both academic and personal growth, independence, creativity, leadership, problem solving and more. Groups include, Cooking, Slime Making and Chess.
