Parents Supporting Learning

Effective parent and school partnerships focus on student needs and are motivated by a common and shared purpose, of developing a love for learning. At AISHK parents and teachers meet annually to discuss learning.

In the Primary school, class teachers send a weekly email to parents, which outlines the topics covered, key dates and homework.  They share students work weekly, via the digital platform Seesaw.

As students become more independent and enter the Secondary school, Heads of Year email parents when necessary with important information.

Parents, teachers and students also meet to support the course elective process as students move from Year 8 into 9 and Year 10 into 11.

Both the Primary and the Secondary school host events that celebrate learning, including art exhibitions, musical showcases, science fairs or project outcomes.

Parent Association

AISHK was founded by a group of dynamic parents in 1995 and to this day parents continued to play an integral part in the school. Without their commitment and contribution, the AISHK community would not be the success it has become. The Parent Association (PA) sits at the heart of the school and plays a key role in bringing our community together.

The PA hosts a range of events that parents can engage with.

The role of the Parent Association is to:

  • Welcome and support families
  • Make a difference by sharing skills and resources to enrich teaching and learning and raise funds for the school.
  • Create connections within the community.
  • Host events, the PA work as a team with the school to coordinate events including, coffee mornings, Father's Day and Mother's Day social occasions, plus whole school events that bring the community together.
  • Collaborate, communicate and feedback to support the school now and in the future.

Families can contact the PA, [email protected].
