AISHK is an inclusive, multi-cultural, non-denominational school and we warmly welcome your application.
Our school teaches the Australian curriculum and follows the Australian academic year from January to December.
Application Information
At AISHK, we welcome students from Reception (from age 4) to Year 12 (final year of school). From Year 11 students have the option to study either the Higher School Certificate (HSC) or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. And our results are outstanding!
Start your Journey at AISHK
Enter your child's birthday to discover the admissions process for your child's entry grade. If you are exploring AISHK for multiple children, please start with your youngest child.
Transferring a child from one school system and curriculum to another can result in a different year level placement compared to their previous school.
When advising parents on the appropriate year level for their child, we consider the child's age, academic ability, social and emotional development, and previous curriculum. This approach ensures a smooth transition to the Australian curriculum.
Book a Tour
Every week, our Admissions team leads informative tours around campus. Join a tour and get a glimpse into the vibrant school life at AISHK and see our learning environments. We warmly welcome you to visit AISHK.
- Primary tours are conducted weekly during term time on Wednesdays.
- Secondary tours are conducted fortnightly during term time on Thursdays.
You can also join one of our open days or Experience a Day at AISHK events. These are free ticketed events in March and August each year. Families are invited to pump-up-the-jam in the gym, snuggle up with a book in the library and join in the many live activities happening around campus lead by our dedicated teachers.
Bookings open 6 weeks before events takes place.
Admissions Steps
AISHK welcomes applications for Reception to Year 10 all year-round. Year 11 applications are generally not accepted after Term 1 and Year 12 applications are generally not accepted under normal circumstances. Please contact the Admissions Office directly if you have an enquiry regarding a Year 11 or Year 12 application. AISHK accepts applications two years in advance of the anticipated year of entrance.
AISHK admits students who are eligible and able to access and meet the curriculum offered.
AISHK accepts applications of any passport nationality. Priority application is provided to siblings of current students, and Australian or New Zealand passport holders.
Admissions waitlists are accorded by date. The earlier the application, the higher the place on our waitlist.
For our intake years (Reception and Preparatory) we also take into account gender equity as it is important to have a balance in each class.
As part of the application process, your child may be asked to complete an AEAS (Australian Education Assessment Services) test if English is not their first language. The AEAS test is a standardised English test that our school has adopted. Please contact our Admissions department for more information on the AEAS test or with any admissions questions.

AISHK school fees are reviewed and published annually in November, and may increase, subject to Education Bureau approval. Tuition fees include all text books, work books, local excursions, special art materials, literary magazines and a Yearbook.
- Tuition fees are based on a per annum charge and, unless other arrangements have been made, the preferred means of payment is by ten (10) equal monthly payments via Autopay (February to November inclusive).
- A 10% discount will be applied to the third and subsequent child/ren in a family enrolled at AISHK. (The discount will be applied to the youngest child in the family.)
- No reduction in tuition fees will be made for any absences.
- If fee payments are overdue, a student may be excluded from school. Once excluded, students will not be re-admitted until all arrears are cleared.
A reservation deposit of HK$25,000 is required at the time of acceptance of an enrolment. This deposit is credited to the annual tuition fee on the student's commencement at the school. Where a debenture is available for a new enrolment, the lodgement of a debenture or the payment of the capital levy will be additional to the requirement to pay the reservation fee. Enrolment becomes final only after the school has received the reservation deposit and the debenture/capital levy payment.
Reservation deposits for new students are only refunded if the school receives written notification (email or fax is acceptable) of a student’s cancellation or change of requested start date within seven (7) days after the payment is received. This deadline is strictly adhered to.
The payment of the Capital Levy is offered as an alternative option to the Depreciating Debenture. The capital levy must be paid on acceptance of being offered a place. The levy amount is reviewed each year and is currently HK$21,840 per student per annum. The capital levy is payable annually at the beginning of each school year.
To withdraw a student, notice in writing must be addressed to the Head of School and submitted to the Admissions Office not less than one term or three months before the student leaves. For students who will not return to AISHK after the Christmas (end of school year) holidays, official notice should be given no later than the last day of Term 3. The Australian International School Foundation Limited will charge tuition fees if the above period of notice is not adhered to, counting from the day of receipt of the official written notice of withdrawal. The fee penalty will be based on one term’s fees. Where a student withdraws during a school year the full year’s capital levy will be payable. In the case of outstanding school fees and other unpaid invoices, the school reserves the right to withhold the school report of the student(s) concerned.
As Year 12 is a student’s final year at the school, there is no need to provide the Admissions Office with written notification as is normally the case with students leaving from other year levels.
A letter together with a Departing Student Checklist Form will be sent to the parents to advise the withdrawal procedures required. For parents who have purchased debentures, they will be given an option to donate either a portion of their debenture or the entire amount to the school.
